A Gift for Blake

A surprise gift for my friend and fellow writer . If you enjoy my writing you should definitely check him out, he's a fantastic writer with a very powerful literary style.

Today was my very last day of high school, and I'm now officially a graduate; I just need to pick up that slip of paper I spent 12 years of my life for. Because there wasn't much to do (I was exempt from my finals) I started to draw, trying to practice different types of hair. One of the doodled looked sort of like my friend Blake, and after some tweaking I started a quick little project to make a gift.

At the beginning I issued myself a challenge. Because I often spend 90% of my time erasing and redrawing, I decided that I would try to draw using the erase tool as little as possible. If I didn't like a line? Too bad. That's why there are tons of little blatant errors. Parts I really want to fix, but I told myself I wouldn't. In all honesty, some of them are killing me. I could probably spend a year pointing out every little thing I want to fix. But I can't. (Otherwise this little 'project' would take me the next week or so.)

Still, I'm kind of okay with how it turned out. Aside from the obvious inaccuracies, it doesn't look all that bad. I at least hope Blake likes it. Also, I used a new tool that I'm now quite fond of. It's what made the pants look like watercolor. So at least I got practice with that. *u*
